Dr. Naa-Solo Tettey is a distinguished public health professional with over two decades of expertise in community health education. She is an Associate Professor of Public Health and the visionary Founder and Director of the HeartSmarts Community Health Education Program. Dr. Tettey earned a Doctorate in Health Education from Columbia University, complemented by a Master of Public Health (MPH), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), Certified in Public Health (CPH), and an ACSM Certified Wellness Coach. Dr. Tettey's outstanding contributions to public health have been recognized with prestigious awards, including a Diversity Fellowship from the State University of New York and a Minority Scholar award from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research endeavors are dedicated to eliminating health disparities through innovative methods, encompassing faith-based initiatives, social media, and advanced teaching strategies.


Renowned for her expertise in faith-based health education initiatives, Dr. Tettey is the creator and driving force behind HeartSmarts, a cardiovascular health education program. HeartSmarts is designed to deliver much-needed education on cardiovascular health in a culturally relevant and appropriate format. Recognized for its efficacy in improving health outcomes and raising awareness about heart disease, HeartSmarts has been hailed as a model faith-based health program by reputable sources such as The New York Daily News, The New York Times, The New York Post, and DNA Info.  In recognition of her groundbreaking work, Dr. Tettey was honored with the Outstanding Innovations in Community and Health Education Award at Columbia University's Health Disparities Conference. In addition, Dr. Tettey has received numerous awards and honors for her work as an educator and public health leader.
